A Welcoming Community of Compassion and Faith

I've been at Trinity Church for almost two months now, and I'm finally ready to send out my first blog post. It's been a great summer with several baptisms, a wonderful ice cream social, a moving funeral, renewal of marriage vows for two couples, and a special visit from our United Methodist missionaries to Senegal.  It didn't take me long to discover that Trinity Church is a vibrant congregation. When I first visited the church's website to get an impression of the congregation, I was excited to read the statement that Trinity United Methodist Church is “ a welcoming community of compassion and faith .”  These words resonate with my own understanding of the church’s true calling and purpose. Throughout September, I would invite you to consider with me what it means to be a "welcoming community of compassion and faith."
